How to handle your threads

By: Thata Pang

All of us know that working with cross stich means working in several colours of threads… Sometimes it is annoying cause we must change the colours frequently and replace the thread from the needle… and because of that we must bundle again the left over threads or else… the left over threads could be like a”traffic jam”..

I hope this suggestion below could help. I have tried with this and am successfull. I could have saved a little time and worked faster :

1. You must have 5-10 tapestry needles
2. Pin cushion

Step one, make a decision what part of pattern do you want to make first

Step two, count how many colours needed for this part

Step three, take all threads you need and put them one by one to your tapestry needle

Step four, put them in pin cushion except the thread you want to work first

After that you just take the second, third…etc from the pin cushion…. Easy and faster… isn’t it?? And there is no “traffic jam” at all…J
